How it works & setup
How does F-PAT detect file tampering?
F-PAT mechanically processes the file data collected during the previous patrol and stores it on our servers. This stored data is compared against the latest patrol results. Any discrepancy — added, removed, or modified files — is treated as a tampering (change) event, and an alert is sent immediately.
What happens if the PHP script on my server is deleted?
Our servers attempt to reach the script at the scheduled time. If it cannot be found for any reason, F-PAT treats this as an anomaly and sends an alert email. You can restore monitoring by downloading the script again from the control panel and re-uploading it to your server.
Does F-PAT monitor all files on my server?
Yes — F-PAT checks all files within the scope configured in your control panel. Note that some servers have administrator-level permissions set on certain directories, which may prevent file data from being retrieved. Please consult your server's specifications for details.
Why isn't monitoring HTML files alone sufficient?
HTML is not the only target for tampering. For example, a PDF containing product specifications could be altered without touching any HTML file. If you only monitor HTML, you risk missing tampering of images, PDFs, or other file types — which could lead to incorrect information being displayed to users and serious complaints. For comprehensive protection, we recommend monitoring all file types.
Which files should be excluded from monitoring?
Server-generated log files (access records updated on every visit) are typically not publicly accessible and change constantly, so they are candidates for exclusion. However, they usually don't exist in your public document root, so excluding them explicitly may not be necessary. Directories used by webmail applications should also be excluded for similar reasons — they generate frequent, expected changes.
What is the "quiet hours" setting?
Quiet hours lets you define a time window during which alert emails are suppressed — patrols still run on schedule, but notifications are held. For example, you might set quiet hours from 11 PM to 5 AM. If an anomaly is detected during that window, the alert is sent at the next patrol after quiet hours end.
I'm not receiving alerts on my mobile phone.
Your mobile carrier settings may be blocking emails from PC domains. Check whether you have enabled filtering or allowed-sender restrictions on your device, and update those settings to allow email from F-PAT's servers.
Billing & contracts
Is monthly billing available?
To keep administrative costs low and monthly pricing affordable, we only offer annual billing. Payment is required in full for the year at the time of signup.
Can I receive an invoice or receipt?
We do not issue invoices or receipts. Please arrange for alternative documentation as needed before signing up.
I've forgotten my control panel username or password.
Use the "Forgot login details" option on the control panel login page to reset your credentials.
How do I upgrade from the free trial to the standard plan?
Submit a request via the "Service change request" option inside your control panel. We'll send you the upgrade steps by email. The upgrade takes effect once payment is confirmed — a specific start date cannot be requested.
Can I downgrade from the standard plan back to the free trial?
Yes, but the process is manual: set your monitoring to "Stopped" in the control panel, then re-apply for the free trial. Downgrades are not processed automatically. Please note that no refund is issued for the remaining period of your standard plan contract.
What happens if I miss my renewal payment?
Please complete payment at least one week before your contract expiry date. If payment is not received by then, the service will be suspended. Service resumes as soon as payment is confirmed.
